His career began at age 17 when he started working nights as an assistant editor while still in high school, quickly demonstrating natural talent that led him to cut material for features and music videos by age 19.
Pontén’s rhythmic approach to editing draws from his background as a drummer, creating a distinct editorial style that has earned him industry recognition. His commercial portfolio includes work for global brands such as BMW, Porsche, H&M, Puma, Xbox, Genesis, and IKEA.
Beyond commercials, Pontén has written and directed two acclaimed short films that found success on the international festival circuit, particularly in South Korea and the United Kingdom.
